Welcome to Xteq X-Setup!

Xteq X-Setup is a so-called "hacker" or "tweaker" program. It allows you to change settings that are normally hidden deep inside some configuration files (like the registry) fast and easily. Besides this, it has many features that make using it easier and faster.

How it works and what X-Setup does

There are many software vendors that include options in their programs that can not be controlled using the program itself because these option are e.g. only intent for system administrators. That's the point where X-Setup jumps in: X-Setup knows where and how to activate these options in various programs and presents them in a nice user interface so you don't have to dive yourself into the system configuration.

An important notice: As X-Setup only changes the configurations for the programs, it can not "add" any option to a program that isn't supported or possible in it. For example, as long as Microsoft does not add the option "make my computer jump when I press CTRL+J" in Internet Explorer, X-Setup can not provide an option to configure this feature, as the feature is non-existent in the program.

How to use X-Setup

One of the major features X-Setup has, is that is allows you to choose between two modes: Plug-in Mode and Wizard Mode. In Plug-in mode you use a hierarchical display to navigate to the settings you want to change. In Wizard Mode, you simply select a topic you are interested in from the "Wizards" menu and X-Setup will display a Wizard that allows you to change the settings in a step-by-step process.
